Piper's "Big Girl" Room

Okay, I have to admit...I failed miserably in decorating Piper's nursery. All the drama of moving to a new house, then having a baby a week later. I just never got on top of it. Her room was in perpetual half dec for two and a half years, poor baby. I had dreamed forever of decorating my baby girl's nursery! Oh well. I had a whole big house to decorate at the same time. So, now it is time to mix it up a little and commit to making this one WONDERFUL! Ideas so far:

Her bed will have tall black posts as the headboard with an upholstered and tufted 24" board between (no footboard). Considering these:

I like this one because her rug is pink on pink. (Paula Prass, Pink Cufflink)

Love this for same reason. (Patty Young, Pink Crisscross)

This could coordinate for the dust ruffle or shams. (Patty Young, Pink Fancy Bands)

Country Living Ideas

I LOVE Country Living Magazine, and I think it embodies my design perspective. Again thinking about our bedroom. I think I need to just succumb to the blue/green idea. I am probably WAAAYYY over-thinking this (as usual). If I don't pick something soon, I am going to change my mind completely about everything (as usual).

I like this canopy.

Bedroom Ideas...ugh!

Our master bedroom have proven to be the BIGGEST challenge of the house. Presently, it is the most God-awful kelly green, which I thought would be one of the first rooms to be painted in the house. Well, 2 1/2 years later here we are with the same terrible green walls. I am really bad about picking paint colors first, then decorating around them, so this time I bought all the fabrics first. Great...well no! Now the color I really want to paint the walls is the same color as the silk drapes. I am worried they will just disappear into the walls. Next option is a dark-ish brown, but then what to do with the trim, I don't want start white with the dark walls. Anyway, here are some pics I like.

I like the wall color and trim (but too much like my drapes) and the treatment of the mantel (which I have too).

My bed will be similar, but the canopy will only extend out around 24". Maybe this is a good wall color. All fabric is light wheat, gold, grey-green, and brown...with a touch of paprika. I would like this airly feel...but then again, I like a cozy, den-like bedroom. Ugh!

Here the drapes are the same as the walls...not so bad.

Pretty much the color of my drapes. Maybe I am leaning toward a light green/blue/grey.

LOVE this paint technique.
